Matt Lenzie is the named adviser on every ForwardFund transaction. He advises developers, landowners and sponsors on forward funding and forward purchase structures across the UK institutional sectors.

Background
Matt spent the formative part of his career at Bank of Scotland Corporate and Lloyds Banking Group as an Associate Director, underwriting and structuring property and corporate lending through a full market cycle. That grounding on the capital side of the table informs how he advises today: he reads a scheme the way an investment committee reads it, which is the perspective that determines whether a forward funding completes.
Over 25 years in property and corporate finance he has worked across the living, industrial, operational and long-income sectors, on both the debt and equity routes to a funded exit. The through-line is structuring: matching a scheme to the capital that will actually commit to it, on terms the developer can live with.
How the advisory works
The starting point is candour. Not every scheme is fundable, and the quickest way to waste a developer’s time is to run a process that was never going to clear an investment committee. Where a scheme is fundable, the work is to structure it well: golden brick timing, the shape of the development agreement, the developer return mechanism, the covenant and specification the investor requires, and the yield at which the market will price it today.
Enquiries feed into the Construction Capital brokerage, which runs the investor process. Institutional investor names are treated as citable public information where relevant; client-side lender and fund relationships are handled discreetly and never disclosed.
